Within the context of a post-war expansion neighbourhood, an existing two level building will be expanded with extra storeys and a complete renovation of the exterior. The urban fabric of this area is characterised by slab-like buildings that have a distinct front and back side: outer facades that face the street, and inner facades around a more tranquil court. The distinctive gallery circulation along the facades of the neighbouring post-war housing blocks is another feature inherent to the architecture of this period. These two aspects drive the design for the renovation and extension.
